Striking a balance
Often, in our society, we look up to those who are busy. If you aren’t practically buried under the load of things that you “need” to get done, you’re not much of a contributing member of society. We are supposed to be running from place to place, with a to-do list, trying to get everything done — or at least look as though we’re getting something done. But are we really accomplishing something that matters when we are so busy? In many ways, being busy is really more of an illusion. We’ve had a good run over the last few years. Exciting projects have been happening, and more hours have been clocked into making those projects happen than we care to count. From mid-2013 to mid-2014, we were working on 9 interesting project. All of them were architecture and design projects for clients and had their usual load of limitations and restrictions. Things were happening so fast that we forgot who we wanted to be initially. Soon enough, we were only providing the architectural services our clients needed. We got so busy trying to please our clients, that we lost sight of who we were. Then came the strike. We’re unfortunate enough to be living in a politically unstable environment and sometimes, out of our control, projects get put on hold. Just like everyone else around us, we had to downsize. Suddenly, we had all this free time on our hands. We started to get to know each other again as a movement !?. We rediscovered each other and along the way, we remembered: ANGLESDIFFERING will always be a work in progress, an emergent concept, and a snowball of ideas that will keep rolling long after we are gone. It is a rebel refusal of the confines of creeping normalcy, we do not wish to be complete, final; for we are the ones that create, develop and deliver, while we, ourselves, remain in constant growth and development. We began revisiting old projects and ambitions and worked on finalizing things we never had time to complete. We started to work on creating opportunities for ourselves by focusing on projects that we believe in. Today, we are more than excited to say that we are about to land two huge deals. Deals that we want. Deals that we always dreamed of. Not just architecture and design projects; Turnkey projects that start from concept creation, to development and execution. Today, we have great hopes for the future, and we’re happy to be starting this new path with you.
